Stars Help Celebrate New Fly Through Terminal Completion

February 2012

London Southend Airport played host to a glitzy party last night (22 February 2012) to celebrate the completion of its all-new ‘Fly Through’ terminal building.

Stars including Essex girl Stacey Solomon and The Only Way Is Essex cast member James ‘Arg’ Argent and Chloe Sims, as well as Eurovision finalists Scooch and others joined airport owner Stobart Group’s CEO Andrew Tinkler, COO William Stobart and London Southend Airport managing director Alastair Welch in hosting the party.

The terminal opens to the public from the 28 February when Aer Arann flights to and from Waterford start using the new facility for the first time.

From the 2nd of April easyJet’s schedule of 70 flights a week starts from London Southend to Amsterdam, Alicante, Barcelona, Belfast, Faro, Ibiza, Jersey, Malaga and Mallorca.

Stacey Solomon performed a set of hits after dinner, joining in the international flavour of the evening by greeting the audience with a big “Hello Europe!” as she followed Scooch onto the stage.
